Joe Carpenter  -  OBAMANATION: SUPPLY AND DEMAND DOES NOT WORK IN AMERICA: WE CANNOT DRILL OUR WAY OUT OF THIS.
Abomination of principles is what that statement is. So what is wrong with the President of the most successful free market capitalist system in human history announcing to the public authoritatively that the most basic tenants of free economics no longer work on the most basic level? What is wrong with making comments, that are presented as facts, by the leader of a free market system, that are fundamentally incorrect and factually false? What is wrong with the presentation of prepared, reviewed political remarks by the current administration, by the president of the most powerful country in human history that are contrary to all conventional business teachings, all working, accepted economic practices, all commerce that we as a nation and the global economy participates in and relies on daily, the entire operating system of the global stocks and bonds markets, and assertions directed to, addressed on, the most essential commodity (Oil) of the nation’s daily operation. What is wrong with the news media of a country that ignores all facts, all logic, all principles, all moral tenants, all perspective, all teachings, all common sense, all obligations, all of its investigative integrity to discern, to educate, to discus, to aspire to a standard of truth, fairness, and basic accuracy? It is called intellectual dishonesty. It is called disconnected. It is called a distraction. It is called a decoy. It is called a hidden agenda. It is called incorrect. It is called misguided. It is called dirty politics. It is called bad leadership. It is called blind ambition. It is called loss of perspective. It is called wrong.
The transfer of national outrage from the bizarre comments of our President and our Supreme court to the comments of a daily talk show host that mixes satire with constitutional principles to make a point is a sophisticated psychological maneuver to misguide and manipulate the public by a desperate administration that is offensive to all objective, thinking, working, educated people that believe in the sound principles of capitalism and the American constitution as a moral and principled guide to our nation.
None of this would be possible in the public mind set if the Republican party its self had not destroyed its own integrity, destroyed logical argument also, by abdicating its responsibilities and obligations and economic principles to corruption, self interest, big money interests, abuse of the public trust, and the gutting of this nations wealth through unsound economic policies. 150 Trillion in off book, off balance sheet, unregulated derivatives, in a country with a GDP of 15 trillion is unsound, dangerous and has had disasters consequences on the quality of life of hundreds of millions of citizens Globally. The Republican game, spin, falsehood is that all regulation is anti capitalism. This insane deregulation and insane refusal to enforce the rule of law on institutions that are to big to fail has convinced the general public all honesty, all integrity, all responsibility, and all legality has been lost. The public’s belief in principles has been destroyed on both sides of the American political ideology to shape this nation at the expense of the general population, the global economy and sound reason based on the quality of life of billions. Printing Trillions of fake dollars. Allowing a privet for profit corporation to keep the nations statistics, keep its books and valuate its money and its money supply all with out oversight accountability and audit for 100 years is the result of all these political off subject social controversies. Both parties have conducted themselves dishonestly and the public is now left with out guidance trust of faith in anything but its own ability to think for its self. AUDIT THE FEDERAL RESERVE: END THE FED. Get a media and a press that is not bank owned.
7$ a gallon gas will break this country again, as did 5$ gas last time, 5$ gas was the last straw, the catalytic event that triggered the collapse of the entire US economy, only this time there is nothing left to barrow from as we are now out of reserves. There will be no transfer to alternatives if there is no economy left, other than depression, inflation, dept and dependency.

This Week's Issue: Bread-and-Butter Issues

The term 'breadwinner' dates from the 19th century, and the meaning today seems pretty self-evident. Bread = money + winning = making it. But the term has a larger meaning in that it also suggests how we provide for our basic needs, how we sustain ourselves. For a long time, breadwinner seemed to refer only to men, that is, the people who brought home the salary...

A lot of people are speaking out against the use of Austin's homeless population as wireless hotspots. It's all part of a big marketing campaign, but some #SXSW attendees find the stunt pretty offensive.

What do you think? Does "Homeless Hotspots" dehumanize the people involved?

Homeless people as wireless hotspots? Yes, it’s happening at South by Southwest, an annual music, film and interactive festival in Austin, Texas.

At Easter 1966, millions of Americans picked up what would become one of the most notable magazine covers in the history of the genre: TIME’s stark question asking “Is God Dead?” In retrospect, the cover—and the much-less-remembered actual piece that ran with it—represented a mainstreaming of the spirit of dissent and debate that characterized the era. The cover was back in the news last week with word that the main theologian profiled in the piece, William Hamilton, had died. Hamilton was 87; at the time of the 1966 article, he was a professor at Colgate Rochester Divinity School.

Interested? Don’t miss Jon Meacham’s fascinating column on TIME.com looking back at Hamilton’s story and one of the most controversial covers in TIME’s history: http://ti.me/xpmomh

We were lucky enough to attend this year's #TED conference, and while we heard some really empowering talks, the most radical message was a call to turn off our phones and make more room for human interaction.

According to speakers like Sherry Turkle, we may have lost sight of what tech really provides us: ways to connect more deeply and widely with real human beings.

It’s a TED tradition: when the stage lights go up at the beginning of a talk, the little gadgets go away—iPhones, iPads, and Blackberries all have to be powered down, even by the tech big wigs who wer...
